Lesbian Otherkin or Femmekin?

As with the rest of the population a proportion of Otherkin are lesbians.

But wait! What population?

If their claims are true, Otherkin are not part of the human population. So what about female Otherkin who are attracted to other females?

Are they lesbian humans who also have an Otherkin part?

Are they lesbian Otherkin – for example female elves who are attracted to female elves?

Or are they actually Femmekin?

Lesbian Otherkin or Angelic Femmekin?

Well probably there are some of each. Some Otherkin seem have a strong human identity. They may be lesbians “as human” while also being Otherkin, lesbian or otherwise.

Some may be members Otherkin species who are attracted to the same sex within their species.

But some undoubtedly are Femmekin – members of intemorphic species that have no male component or any equivalent. Because intemrphism has been so little known or understood until recently, they are likely to try to understand themselves within a schizomorphic model and see themselves as “lesbian” whether from a human or an Otherkin perspective, or both.

Here are some indications as to whether “lesbian” feelings in an Otherkin may in fact be signs of being Femmekin.

If you prefer the company of females and like the idea of being in an all-female world you may well be femmekin.

If you are sexually attracted to females and also (even in a lesser degree) to males, you are probably not femmekin. You are more likely to be a lesbian/bisexual schizomorph. Femmekin in their own worlds tend to have at least mild feelings of aversion toward masculine creatures (on the rare occasions when a small minority encounter them). Femmekin living in Telluria may – or may not – completely lose this from living in a world where males are commonplace and some of them are pleasant: but they do not develop physical attraction toward them since this is contrary to their nature.

However it is possible to have a false, or phantom, attraction to males caused by the strong expectations and conditioning of Tellurian society. If this disappears once you begin to awaken to your Femmekin nature, it does not necessarily mean you were not Femmekin.

If you have no (or very little) sexual attraction toward females and none toward males, you are very possibly Femmekin if there are other indications in that direction. Femmekin are often less sexually oriented than schizomorphs, both human and Otherkin. Their primary needs are often for companionship and love in many different forms rather than a mono-passionate urge toward mating.

Some Femmekin are very romantic, and find romantic love as the center of their lives. However, what is, by Tellurian standards, considered an unusually low level of sexual impulse, coupled with a lot of affectionate love, and the desire for exclusively feminine company is a typically Femmekin emotional pattern.

The desire to form multiple feminine-bonds (sworn friends, adoptive sisters or mothers, teachers to whom one is devoted small, mutually-dedicated clubs and groups etc.) which are highly passionate, but not at all sexual (though there may be a very subtle undercurrent of sensuality, of which a crude physical “consummation” would seem gross and unthinkable) is also very strongly and typically Intemorph.

Where romantic love does play a role, it tends to be very passionate and highly idealized – to an extent that Tellurians might consider excessive. Many Femmekin consider romantic love as an “illness” because it is so strong and consuming, but the term “illness” is not usually used in a bad sense. It means a very powerful “state” that comes upon someone and often makes her incapable of some other “states” that Femmekin consider normal (such as multiple passionate non-sexual bonds). It is considered a beautiful, but very special state.

So, are you Otherkin Lesbian or Femmekin? Now you have a bit more information to help you decide!

  2. Interesting. I had been confused about my sexual orientation for the longest time. I think I may be pansexual, though I’m consistently drawn toward femininity in any gender.

So would that rule out the possibility of being Femmekin?
